I would appreciate any information possible on this old wooden trunk or chest. Is it possibly a military chest? Most I've seen are covered with metal &/or made of thin wood. This measures 14"High X 17" Wide X 30"Long. There are no wheels, it slides on the metal corners that wrap underneath. The wood is 3/4" thick and is unfinished pine. Can someone please tell me when & what this was possibly made & used for? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Really nice. I have one similar to this but mine is smaller and I believe it's a tool box. What's it look like inside? This one with a little TLC will clean up nicely.

Its the underside of the boards making the box, fairly smooth & painted grayish-blue with worn areas. There was really old & worn army-green velvet that had been glued in which I removed & found the painted wood underneath. There is nothing indicating any dividers, shelves, etc were ever in it. I am anxious to get it cleaned up, but I'm still curious as to its possible history.
