    I found this nice little locket the other day at Goodwill. it cost me about 25 cts! i like lockets! anyone know anything about this one? it's shiny inside!

      I think it's a vintage or antique Japanese menuki decorated hinged box, which may have been carried in a small handbag or tucked in a small pocket of a kimono. Seems the top has completely worn off it gilt finish, the interior and exterior were probably the same originally. The bird is in another metal, possibly brass, in the mixed metal fashion. Very pretty piece.
