I need help identifying these hood ornaments. Are they actual hood ornaments or made to look like?
The only reason I'm asking if they are made to look like is because i've not been able to exactly identify the car and year.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Good question you ask as quite a few mascots were made into bookends as they were also sold as lamps etc. I have seen so many very similar but one big difference is the hair, as usually they are always blowing in the wind and in these the hair goes straight down in this set. I see the 2nd one has almost half of the wing missing. If you have other views of this pair, or if you want I can contact one of the worlds leading experts for you and ask him for more info??

I am not sure although the expert thinks they are mascots, they make equally beautiful bookends as well. Making mascots into bookends started in France in the
early 20's I imagine and especially in the 30's, I have seen some great advertisements. I love them. I have found that the french put out the most interesting mascots for my collecting purposes. Here is what The Expert emailed me back :

"This is new to me as bookends.
My guess is that both started life as mascots.

The castings appear very well detailed.
The intact one is a very nice mascot."
