I have an elderly friend who has a set of this china; (No. 11142 on cups) cup and saucer from a tea set (10 cups (one slight crack), 12 saucers, 12 plates, 1 milk jug, 1 large sugar bowl, 2 sandwich/cake plates - her description. She'd love to know its history. Personally, I'd be more interested in its value!
Any historical information would be well received.

Shelley is quite collectible right now, and can bring somehigh prices for one cup& saucer, but mostly the dainty floral patterns. You can date the piece more accurately by the maker’s mark, so post a photo of that. I am guessing by the wide cup shape, that the set probably dates to post WWII 1940-50’s but I am not an expert, just going by what I have seen from other china makers in the UK.
I am pretty sure there is probably a Shelley collectors site on the web too
