I just picked up a Hubley Auto Transporter from the 500 series. recently shared a smaller 400 series transport and I've been looking for the larger set at a reasonable price. I think I got a great deal on this one. It's going to need some work. It was evidently painted with a large nap paint roller and "hub caps" were painted on. The hub cap faux effect just doesn't work on the one piece Hubley wheels IMO. They just weren't molded for it, the hubs aren't well defined enough to make it look good. I see some restores on Ebay with it and it doesn't match my taste. They make metal repro hub caps for Structo and others and I might try them in the future, but I just don't like the paint method on rubber. The last picture shows the size comparison of the 400's and 500's. I'm backlogged on restorations, I need a bigger fire for the ever increasing irons to put in it. Thanks for looking.

Great looking truck. I know what you mean by backlogged. It will take me until 2030 to catch up but I will add more projects in the meantime.
Thanks, I add a LOT more than I complete. I also always wind up with an extra trailer or cab and keep on buying more sets. It's a never ending vicious circle, but I love it!
