i think this is a perfume bottle possibly crystal, the cut glass side and top are not Chinese, and the spoon looks like a perfume dauber, you would apply to your neck etc. Perfume bottle collector's would know more than I do.

My take is that there is little to no doubt that this is intended as a snuff bottle. The end of the "dauber" is actually dished out as a snuff spoon would be.... something that would not be done to a perfume dauber, as there would be no reason to.

Reverse painted snuff bottles are quite common through the years... Reverse painted containers designed to hold liquids..... not so much.

Thank you for all of your comments very appreciated I do agree I to a snuff bottle due to the cut out also it doesn't tighten on top I dont know if that means anything . I just find it so odd that I can't find one like it anywhere .

There is doubt IMO, that 'this is a reversed painted snuff bottle....' in comment 5.

It is not a reversed painted decor bottle, if you might look closely at the image 2 branches and flowers, they are on the surface of the glass/crystal, you can detect the texture of the enamel and the painting on the right is outside the interior surface area.

I have looked at hundreds of snuff bottles over the years, they were meant to be used and carried with you in China, they are supposed to fit in the palm of the hand as for size. The spoon attached to top is supposed to be air tight with a device to prevent leakage. The faceted ball top may have been damaged at the end of the dauber at some point, and does not necessarily belong to this bottle at all anyway, this is what it should look like if it was a real crystal snuff bottle.

The use of snuff as a manner of ingesting tobacco products has all but stopped in most places. In China, as an example, snuff was considered to have medicinal properties. The use of snuff in China stopped around the WWI time frame.

Decorative and non functional snuff bottles from China are still sold to this day, and are made for the tourist market. They are made in a wide range of quality and price ranges. Most modern souvenir examples are made as decorative items and not really designed or produced with the intent of being functional. This would appear to be one of those.
