This is one of my latest finds. It is a rather large box, about 7 X 4.5 inches and has a weight of almost four pounds. It is in almost perfect condition with the exception of two spots on the metal part. I was thinking of cleaning it off but was afraid that I might damage the finish. I believe it is a vintage item, but I am not too sure where it comes from and how old it is.

What a wonderful box Gudrun. I had a look around and most of these seem to be French, and the metal is brass. If you Google French cut crystal jewellery box you will see some, and also see their value. Wow.
