I found a local charity shop today I hadn't been in! I spotted these plates on a sideboard with no price, and thought they looked like Royal Crown Derby, but there's no marks, except for a painted number 8273 in either red or grey. They are not Crown Derby, as the pattern is not quite the same, and the painting is not fine enough, but apparently many English potters copied the Imari patterns in the 19th century, such as Davenport. I cannot find any more info about them, though I think they look pretty spectacular. There are 6 side plates and 2 serving plates, but at least 3 of them have cracks! Still an interesting haul for £2!
