    Patent no. 215,404, May 13, 1879, by Thomas Shuman, of Corning, Iowa. One half of the patent assigned to George A. Morse, Corning, Iowa. Rarely seen in collections. The first photo is the figure 6 stay strip. The second photo is figures 3 and 5 on patent drawing. Don't have the figure 4 variation.
