These jugs are 7" high and 4.25" in diameter. Both have cork stoppers with a plastic top. Only one of them is marked with the EHRLE BROS WINERY glazed mark. That one has the year 1983 on it, too. Both have the paper label and the USA mark on the bottom, though. They were likely made within a few years of each other. I can't determine if this winery is still in existence or not. I also could not readily determine who manufactured their jugs. It is pretty uncommon to see something like this made in the USA today and these are very reusable, though not rare. I am marking this a mystery in hopes that someone will be able to identify the maker. These were a recent thrift shop find, I think for about $2.49 each. I've had a yen for some sweet grape wine since I found these...
Iowa makes wine ? I'm not even sure I spelled "Iowa" right !! LOL !!
Illinois, Missouri and Iowa's sweet fruit wines are not completely horrible, concord grape, blackberry, elderberry, apple, peach, etc., but anything with a pretense to being made from a typical wine grape is pretty poor. Blackberry wine is a favorite of mine as is concord grape wine.
