This gorgeous drop leaf table was discovered at a yard sale covered in layers of muck. (years of grime) It has some blemishes, but cleaned up beautifully. It appears to have all original parts with the exception of the screw, washer, and the drawer knob. The hole on the current nob is drilled smaller than the hole in the face of the drawer. (which explains the washer) I have some thick antique screws and will watch for an antique drawer knob that would make it more authentic.

The hinges are missing some of the screws and a small piece of veneer on the drawer, but otherwise it is in great shape. I have a few screws but need to see if the wood is stripped out under the leafs.

I love the simplicity of the slide-outs that holds up the leafs. They are swing out arms accessible with a cut out finger hole. They slide back into the base flush.

The interior of the drawer has been stained and varnished. The bottom of the drawer is beveled on three sides where it joins

The bottom of the pedestal has two brass straps held in place with slotted brass screws.

It was exciting to run my hands over the sides and bottom of the drawer and feel the planing lines in the wood.

My beautiful little piece of the past for less than 30 dollars!

What a find! Lucky you! I really like the base- the entire table is beautiful.

Thank you blunderbuss2 and Watchsearcher ~ It was so dirty when I found it that I could not see the joints on the drawer. I was relying on the cut lines on the bottom to determine if it was machine made.

The screws all have off-set slots and the nails have slightly irregular shaped heads.

I need to take pictures under the leaf with a good quality camera. There is some very faint lettering crudely etched into the wood. I partially see what appears to be the name "Elias" and an "05". Several other marks that I cannot make out for certain. My guess is that a child was under the table making the marks as they are not very neat. And an "04" which is underlined and "sit". (I am guess on all marks; as it is very hard to make them out)
