Can anyone tell me about this set? I am about to buy them as my first restore piece. I can not afford the great condition pieces so I thought I would start here. I have found similar of one but the one with the crown is nowhere to compare. The seller says they are a throne set but I have found nothing in my research so far. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I am not fishing for information to sell. I would truly like to learn and begin collecting.
Lastly, I don’t want to be misled by the seller and ripped off either but I guess that may be a chance when buying any antique
Its called a gothic chair or gothic throne chair. There are many fancier carved chairs out there and tho reproduction they sell. This one does not look like a reproduction or at least one I am familiar with. Easier to tell if seen in person. Beautiful chair with nice turns but usually different twisted barley not this type. Lovely, nonetheless.
Do you think they are a set or have any idea where they would have originated?
