I found this the other day at a junkshop in Oakland. it took me close to a day to clean it up. it was filthy. but it sure did clean up nicely! I believe that it is Famille Verte - but not very old. any info appreciated. thank you.

You'r right. Not very old. The 'traffic light' border shows that. Export ware. Late 19th ct at most, but probably much newer. You should uploade a close up of the emperor mark. Unfortunately however they'r not to be trusted.

Thanks Golgatha. what do you mean by the 'traffic light border'? the lapids at the base? you can see a close up of the base if you double click on the last photo.

This sort of border at the base is common and named after the elements which have a likeness with traffic lights. There are lots of emperor mark lists on the Internet. Unfortunately they don't date the item. They'r meant as respect for some emperor.

thanks Golgatha. i'm aware of that, but this is not an emperor mark. it's the Jingdezhen mark.
