This heavy 5 lbs, 14 1/2" by 4 3/4" solid brass plate has a saying that I always thought was Irish in origin. Who is this BOEL and why the date 1864? I found nothing on-line or in reference books on Boel. It was found in a flea market this past weekend. Thanks for any help you may provide.

Looks like something You would see hung up in a Irish Pub and dated for opening date? with Pub Owners name. Lots of Boel in Ireland back then.

I think dizzydave is onto something, as i found this drinking rhyme to be an old Irish "Toast." The only difference is your copy has two words added, ie. the G-Damn. I found nothing on the Boel name association.

Yea, old timers strikes again, the last line is different as well. Lets just say it is a play on an old irish toast, (imo), and leave it at that!!! Lol
