1940's or 50's Rebajes copper pin, just shy of 2". This is "tragedy" the "comedy" pin has oval and rounded shapes, you have a hint of it in pic 2 "Copper Art Jewelry by Burkholz & Kaplan" - but they definitely go together and I have to find Comedy now. LOL. Great online "Black Friday" purchase. I've collected copper since 1980, maybe 200 items, but I only have 10 Rebajes pieces. Prices for Renoir, Matisse, Rebajes and unmarked copper goes up and down. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed completing sets. Some of my favorites are the most fragile Renoir Matisse enamel bracelets. https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/177274-renoir-matisse-50s-copper-enamel-bangle?in=collection-5837
Francisco Rebajes created metal art and costume jewelry in New York City from mid 1930's-thru 1950's and retired from his successful company in the early 60's to do special, high end pieces. He used copper, tin, sterling silver and prices ranged from $1.95-5.95. (Of course the sterling pieces command BIG $$$, and sadly I cannot afford anything - YET.) In case you want to see what his mark looks like refer to pic 3. Thanks for looking at my copper obsession.

Thank you Fort for first love!
Very cool piece!
Copper jewelry is an art of it's own.
Copper was very popular in the late fifties, early sixties.
My Mother went to Copper Parties, bought wall plaques, and candy dishes..
Wonder if there was jewelry at those parties?
Hope you find "Comedy", that would be great!
Good Luck! And I love your Copper! I have a copper belt I have had since Junior High.
Don't ask how many years that is, I can't count that high...lol
Hopefully you got the less hard to find treasure. I adore comedy and tragedy pins, this is a real gem, fascinating !~
Jenni - thank you!
Eileen - I don't know about those copper parties and I have a few copper boxes, but no candy dishes or plaques. My copper "home" items are older, more in the 30's arts and crafts era. But, as you know my jewelry starts then and goes into the 70's. Yes, I will find the Comedy pin :-)
Phil, thank you. I have 2 small 1" copper comedy and tragedy pins, but this larger one by Rebajes is pretty great. You know how collecting goes - the first item is a steal and then you pay dearly for the item to complete the set!
Thank you friends for your loves: Hel1, Rose, Thomas, Kevin, Raven, Watchsearcher, Kyra!
I will def keep my eye out for you for that. Yes, the signature is quite different and I believe it was you that told me how solid copper is getting harder to find. I just sent my daughter a solid copper bracelet for Christmas. She's going to love it, I had to remove a link from it and not so happy about how the jump ring went back together but she'll let me know if it needs further adjustment. xoxo
Share - I still have your bracelet. I am such a bad friend.
