This is the newest addition to our “glass” collection. and is on heavy stock, with a blank verso.
The print measures approx. 9x 12, and is in excellent condition. I have seen a copy of this before, but the condition was not conducive to spending the time and money to frame it, but this one is excellent. Strong colors, little paper toning from age, and no creases other than the seam down the middle, as it appears to have been the “centerfold in the publication it came out of. It is a chromolithograph that was printed in Leipzig Germany in 1897.
Glass houses/designers represented include:
Karl Köpping, Berlin
L.C. Tiffany, New York with 1 example which seems to be in a bronze mount by Keller & Reiner, Berlin
Powell & Sons, London
Peter Behrens, Darmstadt
Val St. Lambert, Belgium
Emil Gallé, Nancy
Being collectors of all types of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Egyptian Revival, and Mid Century prints and paintings, we have a supply of empty period frames, and a mat cutter to frame it. Will likely get it framed up in January after the holidays.
