What? You managed to buy this lovely piece? It's wonderful. Absolutely love it. Museum quality. Was she from Bath England?

      Elisabethan,

Yes, she was from Bath. I loved it the moment I saw it. I believe the Royal Hotel still exists in Bath. Thank you for the wonderful comment that lets me know that I made the right decision to buy.

Wow! I am amazed that the museum in Bath didn't buy it first. A great folkart historic peace. Yes you did the right thing! So very lovely!

Elisabethan, Thank you! I always wanted a good sampler but know very little about them. I was drawn to the fact that she used a hotel as the main subject instead of the usual subjects. Thank you again! Appreciated.

Yes I can see you are right about the Hotel. I also see there is a Royl School of Needlework in Bath. They say on their page that they have an arkive. If you wanted to know more about your piece and the person who made it, you could ask them? The school was founded after your piece was dated but I am sure they can know more about local work.
