I just posted the scraper a while ago and said I hope to post a Carryall set soon. I hope this is soon enough. Here's a #511 cab/lowboy/scraper set catalogued as a Carryall in 56-57. It's got some paint loss, but I'd give it a solid good +. I ain't gonna touch it. It's one of the longer sets at 20 1/2".
The first carryalls had a '51 Ford cab and cataloged in '53-'55 in orange. This is the first set offered with a #500 series Diesel cab new in '56. Whatever truck, if any, modeled after is not listed. The only thing I've seen even close to it IRL is a mid 50's Peterbilt....maybe. It's definitely a diesel because it says "Diesel Fuel" on the fuel tanks. Any other fuels will void the warranty. This is the final #500 cab only cataloged in '56-'58 in various sets. It's the longest cab at 9 1/4" and it was the most ornate. It's got 2 shiny metal air cleaner canisters on the sides and a exaust stack that are seperate pieces. It came in org/gray, like this, cream/grn and wht/red. The org/gray cab was only cataloged with the 510 log truck but this is a manufacturing catalog. Some variations that weren't cataloged were made and some color combos never made it to production despite being listed. This cab looks best with the low boy, it always looks too big in the dump and auto carrier sets it also came in. The last picture shows it with a cream/green carryall. This is set I the got the scraper from, when I get through restoring this cab/trailer, the scraper will be moved back home. I think the cream/green goes better with the yellow scraper. I don't know if they never made a wht/red carryall. It wasn't cataloged and I've only seen the wht/red with the auto carrier and dump trailer sets. I don't know if I'm putting a scraper on this one since I've got the other one. I've seen them sold on Ebay with road rollers, it doesn't look good with them. The bulldozers look too big. I'll find something suitablebor just put a nice original scraper on ot. I try to keep all original and all restored stuff together in sets.
These cabs are the hardest to find especially with the stack and air cleaners. The stacks seem to be missing the most. All of these are removable after you take the cab off of the chassis. Removable=loseable.

A fine pair of prime movers. Probably a good idea not to repaint the one in good condition. Will be interesting to see what you find for the load.

Thanks Apache. I do restores, but only when they're below a threshold of paint loss, I love the acceptable as is look of a well cared for toy that was played with. That's character, not a defect in condition. It shows it recieved love from the owner, I'd rather display a toy that that shows it actually graded a living room carpet than one that sat in a box.
I tend to like things that show their age but then I have my mint Matchbox. Some things I like minty mint and other things can be close to pile of rust. Go figure.
I have the same feelings. I love MIB, but I've had some ones that were far from mint but had a special character that only comes from age.
