It truly is the time of year for magical things to happen. ..
As you all know, and are probably tired of hearing about, these brooches are very few and ultra rare. To find TWO in less than a week is mind- boggling. But this is the time of year people sell Christmas jewelry. So with a little patience and determination of searching for hours, I came across the Christmas Wreath! As you can see, all three brooches have matching rhinestones. The colors are identical, so there's no confusion that these came from the same company. Also, if you research these, they are confirmed D & E pieces. Look closely and you see the "wire-over" constuction of the bow in front of the candle that is an attribute of D & E's.
Now to find the Holly Berry Leaf to complete the collection. I have never seen one. I do believe Cheryl Killmer has one, and it's listed in Juliana Jewelry, The Last Generation, so I know it to exist. Finding it is another story.
Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!
ENJOY & MERRY CHRISTMAS!
They are lovely. I really like Christmas brooches.
Lucky! Lucky! It sounds like the right person found that brooch! Good luck with your hunt! They are gorgeous.
They are beautiful! Wow, persistence pays off. I hope you come across the other one soon!
wow very beautiful !
Beautiful collection with these festive colours, and your search should be great, Merry Christmas Eileen !~
Adele, I'm so glad you like my D & E Christmas brooches.
If only I could get up the courage to wear one. LOL
Misty, it was literally buried deep in the internet. When pieces are not signed, and no one knows the history behind it, you find them thrown in with others. This was in a lot of four, the other three I gave to the thrift store. :)
Jenni,
Yes, I did it again. I was astounded by the price of this piece as well as the bells.
The bells were a low $$ but this brooch only cost me $. All I can say is they went to a good home, and as you know, I will never resell. Santa must think I have been a good girl this year for all this "magic" to happen! :)
MrsT, yes, I was pretty persistent, lol Here's hoping for the Holly Leaf, but like I said, I have never seen one outside a collection, so thank you for the "hope"! :)
Mani, I'm so glad you find them beautiful, as do I. Simple...totally different from D & E's
usual BLING!
Phil,
Merry Christmas to you, and thank you my friend for the wonderful, thoughtful words!
And thank you for all the loves, dears!
So beautiful dear friend! I love your collection.
Oh, thank you Mary!
That's so sweet to say, and Merry Christmas to you, dear friend! :)
Wonderful!
Wishing you a MERRY CRISTMAS, Ms.CrystalShip :-D
Merry Christmas Pascale!
Please call me Eileen...
Been here long enough, right lol
And I thank you!
Beautiful brooches! Merry Christmas and good luck!
Elisabethan...thank you!
These are the only Christmas brooches I collect.
Thank goodness there are only four.
Thanks for the "good luck" as I'm going to need it for the last one..
Like I mentioned , never seen one up for sale...ever
It will happen.... :)
A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS!
THOMAS.
Merry Christmas Eileen,
Your wreath is beautiful. I think you should wear them - just a tip here - whenever I wear a piece I am particularly fond of - I check the pin & clasp like every other minute or so - just to make sure it isn't open. Wear it proudly. Again, thank you for all the support and expertise you have shared. I hope that you don't feel it was wasted on me. Lori
Merry Christmas Eileen, just love the quality here and the perfect colours to this treasure !~
Lori, Merry belated Christmas to you! Yesterday ( Christmas Day) was spent at my Daughters, We were all together for over 10 hours! Phew! Champagne flowed, my wonderful Daughter cooked an incredible meal, and to watch the children’s faces when they were opening their gifts just made my day. The house was packed with family, as it should be on Christmas ( my daughter and son-in-law have to be tested for covid very day at work, so none of us even thought twice about that horrible virus) anyway, enough.
And Lori, I’m glad I was able to help just a little, sharing our love of vintage is never a waste!
Phil, for years I thought D & E only used red and green for their one season Christmas pieces! Then I came across the wreath with the yellow flame! Makes me wonder if there are others out there with different colors. Probably not, but ya never know collecting vintage....
