Here is a 2 1-2" fancy Victorian type design brooch with central pear shape ruby red rhinestones, smaller red rounds, swirly white rhinestone frame and movable drop pendant, on silvertone. By Weiss (1942-1971), vintage mark ca 1950s

Amazing Weiss!
Thomas you are so lucky, the ruby is one of the classic four birthstone jewels, the others being diamond (April), emerald (May) and sapphire (September), and as a jewelry lover I totally envy you, rubies are precious & beautiful. Very glad you enjoyed my ruby rhinestones here & always love your great comments - here's a musical comparison for this, "Ruby" by Ray Charles, I loved that song and the movie it came from, Ruby Gentry with Jennifer Jones
My friend the red lover, Eileen, how I hoped you would enjoy this & really happy you did! Weiss gave this that old time glamor & sophistication, I felt very dressed up wearing it on velvet to my husband's company Christmas party & enjoyed all the compliments. Pascale I didn't see the eBay unsigned blue version, that must have been lovely, a very lucky person got that for $10 as this Weiss cost me quite a bit more lol!
When Weiss used claws to hold their stones, they were some of the finest jewellers, a great piece. Sorry was busy at Christmas but much love to you on the holidayss !~

Thanks Pascale for the link to the blue brooch, I do think mine looks better quality too - many of the unsigned pieces are copies so they use cheaper materials to make them. It is pretty in the blue however
