Hello CW and a Good Friday to You!!
This is a 1967, Vietnam era record titled, 'Sounds Of Basic Training', issued by the U.S. military to be issued to new army recruits at Ft. Dix military installation.
The sounds found on here is weaponry being fired and talking with some military music in the background.
Ft. Dix was built in 1917 five months before the first Armistice Day(Veterans Day). Today it comprises the 9th. infantry unit and has a population of around 8,000.
The site also contains a federal correction institution, with approximately 4,000 inmates.
In 1969, two years after this records release, 250 inmates held at Ft. Dix on AWOL charges, rioted in protest due to unsanitary conditions, which caused some nationwide controversy.
This record is also another example of a 7 inch disc playing at 33 1/3 rpm rather than 45 rpm speed.
