At first I was not sure what plastic this was, but had to have it. Online Seller said it was bakelite and I knew it wasn't. It's celluloid with sterling or chrome monkey overlay. It was not pretty except for the cool monkey beads. As soon as it arrived I added bakelite beads.

Thank you Watchsearcher for yuor love.
Fantastic bracelet, I LOVE the monkeys (but then I am a "monkey" according to Chinese birth year) - you did great adding the bakelite beads Mary! Great brown & silver combo, excellent find
I've never seen anything like it!
I love the monkeys, talk about expertise inlay!
I agree with Jenni, adding the bakelite beads was an excellent idea.
Then again, I love "your" bracelets more than the designers... :)
"Hey Hey Were The Monkees....!!"-The Monkees
Thomas.
Thomas...
Made me LOL :)
Brilliant - just brilliant!
I love the bakelite beads you added giving it more of a fine bracelet look. You are the bakelite queen, so cool now !~
love it!
Jenni - I think I'm a boar which I don't think is very sexy. This monkey is wrapped around the celluloid bead, pretty cool! The brown 2 hole bakelite beads are in my stash, but honestly I would rather have silver 2 hole-tube beads. I'll find them someday. Glad you enjoy this. XOXO
Eileen - thank you for getting my upcycles! I like doing them if the item needs some oomph. This is good quality overlay, nothing popping off. Will try to figure out what it was originally. :)
Thomas - I saw the Monkees a few years ago - they were great! Thanks :)
Gillian - thank you, I love doing upcycle projects keeping to vintage roots.
Phil - thank you, I had these brown beads....
Thank you friends for your loves - Fort, Hel1, Kevin, Gudrun, worthit, karen, mani, raven - lentilka, xoxo!
Mary, beginning Feb 5th, 2019 is the year of the boar! It is your year, hope it's fabulous for you :)
Jenni - I just checked, I'm wrong - year of the pig. I don't want to be a pig either, but oh well, pigs are smart :-)
Mary...
Made me laugh :)
And pigs are smart...
Boar/ pig same in Chinese calendar...
Boars are just monster size pigs, had one in my back yard once ( actually every night),
and I thought it was a small cow it was so big. It was dark, as they are nocturnal, but when he turned to look at me, I saw the size of his tusks and went inside...
Eileen - really? You saw a scary big pig in your back yard? Yikes!! every night? I am a farm kid from Iowa. When the runts were born Dad moved them into our mud room in boxes and warm lights. He said "you have to keep this little pig alive" and of course I did and they became tame, which was a very hard lesson on being a surrogate mama.
