this sign says marilyn monroe bl. it is about 36 inches long and 4.5 inches tall and heavy metal. a couple people said it is 1970s sign and some people it is just a bar sign. does anyone know. and if it is a 70s sign how was that determined. ty

In other (your) words, a 'bar sign' -- made to mimic/imitate something which might or might not have ever actually existed. If you really want to know, you'll have to do research to see if there really *is* a Marilyn Monroe BL(vd) someplace, and if so what kind of signs might identify it. Bear in mind also, it is not difficult to get a "custom street sign" made with *any* lettering one might desire on it...
there is two on ebay like it so its not custom made if there is more than one like it
This is a gimmick sign associated with Marilyn Monroe Boulevard of Broken Dreams. It is worth about 12 or 15 dollars at best. If you aren't familiar with Boulevard of Broken Dreams then research it. It is quite well known to older folks. Additionally there are Marilyn Monroe Boulevards all over the country anywhere there is a Marilyn Monroe Spa and zoning allows a street sign.
