Hi folks - this chest of drawers was my great-grandparents - trying to figure out its age & whether to hang onto it or not.
It is solid oak (going by the weight!). Dovetails on the drawers are pretty neat, but not identical, suggesting hand-cut.
I'm guessing early 20th or very late 19th century.
No makers marks that are obvious.
I'd appreciate any insight anyone may have?

I think you are being overly generous with your estimated age and I don't agree with the dovetails being hand cut. Just my 2 cents.

Agree on all counts with fhrjr2.

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping for some clarity i.e. what it is, not what it isn't. What sort of date do you reckon then? Anything else you could add like origin? Value? Etc thanks for reviewing

It is certainly post war I would say 50's or 60's. IF it isn't marked then it could have many origins from a private furniture maker to Sears Roebuck. As for value, if you read the rules before you posted then you know asking for a value is not what this site is for. Even though this was owned by older folks doesn't mean it is old. Simply put, old folks buy new things.

fhrjr2 is spot on with his anaylysis, could be later even up to 70's. Just hit the appraisal button if you want to know value.
