This was something I picked up yesterday. I'm really pleased with its overall condition especially as the burner tank and flame spout are complete. The lenses are unmarked and other than the superficial rust, it's in great shape. I know I may displease a few purists here, but as a project, I'd like to strip it down and refurbish it to a 'factory fresh' look. Actually, if anyone knows its use then I'd be most grateful for any feedback you could share. Thanks, folks.

Paraffin (oil) lamp for marking hazardous areas/detours or road works/repairs at night.
Very common in England and in use until the early 1970's
