My dad received this as payment many many years ago and he has decided to give it to me.
Any information about it would be appreciated!
Writing on the back says,
In memory of the best of husbands and devoted father. A gift from his children to their widowed mother Jane McLeod. Christmas Day 1863.

Beautiful antique mourning piece, lovely design & inscription
Thanks PhilDMorris. There is a braided lock of hair which seems to have fallen into the back of the cavity. The photo didn’t capture it very well.
