Dropped by a little shop last week following a doctor's appointment, & was rewarded by the sight of this choice piece of vitreous goodness.
How could I say no to its obvious charms?
Made from three layers of cased glass - clear over pink, swirling stripes, & a white interior, it measures 20.7 cm tall, 7.2 cm across the cut top rim, & 7.8 cm across the base. The vase has two clear applied handles that are delightfully rustic & bumpy.
Classic piece of Victorian Welz & in absolutely mint condition.
Makes me smile every time I look at it!

Lovely. Finding any new Welz makes me smile :) Love it's shape. The stripes look more defined than usual for this decor.

Perhaps the extra definition on the stripes is due to the vase not having any moulded ribbing? Many pieces in this decor also have the ribbed effect & sometimes the daisy heads as well which makes the design excitingly busy...on a plainer shape like this the stripes are more dominant.
