I got this bracelet about 40 years ago from my uncle who used to work on a ship. I haven’t got a clue where it comes from. Does anyone have an idea? Thank you!!

      Theodora, Beautiful.

Are there any marks on the back side?

Keramikos, No there is nothing on the back. It is a Beautiful bracelet isn’t it.

Theodora, No markings at all? That's too bad, as it could have helped narrow things down. Yes, it is beautiful.

As Broochman suggested, it could be from India, but the Asian elephant is found in other countries:

The Asian elephant (Elephas maximus), also called Asiatic elephant, is the only living species of the genus Elephas and is distributed in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, from India and Nepal in the west to Borneo in the south. Three subspecies are recognised—E. m. maximus from Sri Lanka, E. m. indicus from mainland Asia and E. m. sumatranus from the island of Sumatra.

Being that your uncle traveled by ship, countries with ocean ports are obvious sources (Nepal is land-locked). Do you know where his travels might have taken him?

Another potential clue is the design on the two segments that don't have elephants. It could be stylized script from some language. What language that might be, I don't know. Sorry. :-)

It is very similar to the silver jewellerymade in Siam and I dealt a lot with their Jewellery from the 1950's when I sold it in the 1980'a. I qouls think this Bracelet was made in Siam, even though not marked.
