I am not sure about this bracelet. I think it might be tortoise shell or some sort of horn but I am not sure. The thickness is not even and the shape is unusual. I could not find one like this. Also, there is a irregular pattern on the inside of the bracelet. I have never seen this either.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for looking:)

Can’t help you on what it’s made from, but nice find!

Very pretty clamper bracelet, does look tortoise shell to me too, such lovely brown & gold coloring

Thanks for your comment, Mrstyndall. It's hard to tell the material just from a photo, especially if it looks like this. I have one bracelet like this but thinner and I am positive it is tortoise shell. I also have one I thought was tortoise shell but after a closer inspection I think it is some sort of plastic (but it fooled me first). This one here is some sort of natural material but I cannot tell if it is horn, trying to look like tortoise shell, or if it is really tortoise shell:)

      Strange it has pattern inside!

Try to "taste" it, put your tongue on it and if you have the same feeling as if you "taste" your varnished nail, it is synthetic.
I don't think it is horn, clear horn has a nearly pearlescent inside look :-)

Thanks for your nice comment, Broochman. I was looking out of my dining room window, dreaming about spring - LOL.

From your description of uneven textures and one I had, yes it is tortoise shell cuff bracelet (not a clamper, which would have a hinge.) Wonderful! I had a smaller cuff that was also tiny wrist size....I broke it sadly....but it showed it was made of organic material - not a clean break like celluloid plastic. I would not recommend breaking your lovely bracelet for the test.

Not sure what the wavy pattern inside is though, I haven't seen that. It looks like a plastic coating. Maybe it was another layer to make the bracelet stronger.

Kyratango, thanks so much for your comment. I put myself together and followed your tip. I licked the bracelet but didn't taste much:)
