    kyratango
    (439 items)

As always on the hunt for kyratisation candidates pieces, I got this 1860s French (crab mark) "émaux bressans" brooch.
    4cm by 3.5cm, domed.

One piece of enamel lacking... little enamel damage around the lady's portrait...

My now favorite trick, the crimpled tinfoil was used to create a filling for the lacking piece.
Green permanent marker covered with "Judikins Diamond Glaze", tiny silver ring for the blue cab bezel.
Gold decorations with diluted "rub'n buff" patina, red marker dots, white posca pen dots, tiny gold nail art balls and finally a doming finish with diamond glaze.

    Et voilà! :-)

Than you for your great and early comment Ken!
You're right for the size of the piece to be repaired... 1cm (less than 1/2") TINY!

      Ooh, thank you Scott!
A great part of my enjoyment in my kyratisations is the thinking of how will I manage to get the illusion effect with my simple materials!

Kyra, I think that Bressan enamels are very pretty. I only stumbled upon them recently, when I was watching an auction for a Bressan dragonfly and another piece. It was gorgeous and I would have liked to own, but they are pricey. Congrats on your find and restoration! You are so talented :)

Jenni, thanks! The lady in the middle isn't usual to be seen on these pieces, commonly another bigger Bresse enamel oval piece :-)

Mary, THANK YOU!!! Love back to you :-)

Mrstyndall, I know what you mean... When I haunted flea markets in France decades ago, they seemed to be everywhere... Of course then, I wasn't interested, because I only loved the enamel pieces, but not the jewels made with them...

Courtenayantiques, thanks! There is always something new to discover in jewelry, and CW is fantastic to lead to a lot of new areas of interest ;-))

Okay ------ that does it !!

I really think the word "KYRATISED" has to be added to the Urban Dictionary.....LOL ...... you have invented a new word with your wonderful WORK !!

Phil! A belated THANKS for your wishes XO

      Rose, lol!
Someone on another site asked what is kyratisation meaning... Google search didn't gave a definition, but led to CW :-))
If I keep on my guilty activity of these "cosmetic repairs" perhaps it will end in having a WIKIPEDIA entry ;-))))
