Japan, early 20th partially glazed ceramic vase in the shape of a pouch and with the Spring threee blossoms motif decoration. Very nice, thanks for posting.

When you enlarge it, there appears to be a mark in line with the brown spot of glaze on the lower right. Looks like a large "L" with letters or characters inside
These vases are typical 1900 or so Japanese culture styled decorative motifs, the half glaze and half rough but mat enamel painted pottery is typical of this time, there is another type with figures called Sumida Gawa, this one here is rare, is representative of wealth with the pouch of money one of the Japanese Gods of Good Fortune would hold.
There would not be a mark from our alphabet, that is probably a color and line of crazing, caused by oxidation and weathered by time.
Thanks again for the info....I keep looking for something similar online, but can’t find anything remotely like it. I looked for pouches too, but only found one. Is there a Japanese word for the pouch of money?
Sandygal, I'm not usrprised you have not found something similar. This is the first one I see in 20 years, when I would do research for 100s of items.
Best approach is to find a description of the God of Wealth, he is always shown holding a bag of coins, or a pouch, I will get a link of one and you can see for yourself.

This was one of the most favored Gods in Japan, one of their folkloric figures for several centuries, which was used as motifs for a lot of their decorative objects, his bag shown alone is unusual, but it would be recognized.
