The Manhattan has a brass with bronze paginated copper body on white alabaster base w/cream Bakelite numerals and is in working order with original cord and plug made by Lawson Clock Co, Los Angeles, California and designed by one of the best designers teams of the early 20th century, Fehrer and Adomatis, according to their Lawson Time-Table Time Creations for 1938 Catalog. According to the same catalog it had a $50 price tag (catalog picture 4), which today would cost $931.08. Spoiler alert all those Lawson Clocks attributed to KEM Weber, were not designed by him. He did submit two designs to Lawson but they never went into production according to his biography "A Modern in Southern California", and in "Living in A Modern Way: California Design 1930-1965."

These clocks rarely come up for auction, I bought this one in October of 2014. This design was discontinued and Lawson recycled the name with a much smaller brass clock. The clock is 100% original. When I received it, I broke it down, cleaned the motor and re-oiled it, today it runs as good as new.. The side bronze patinated finish is leeching into the alabaster on each side, thus the slight green tint, other than that it is in excellent condition.
