I just came across a very interesting possible ancient Box Shaped Slide Key Padlock? I got it from a local auction and I was hoping someone can help identify this piece. I've attached some images I just took and have more if you would like to see. I can't find anything identical online and was hoping someone can help with the age, where is was made, the stamping\identification marks and is there any value to it?

    Thanks

A Chinese metal figural key, with brass decorative band. These can be all sizes and many shapes, each made with it's own unique key. I had about a dozen for a while. They fit well on the double prong hardware clasp of vintage Chinese wooden boxes. Thanks for posting.

      Hello Truthordare,
Thank you for that information and link, great reading. From my images would you consider this lock a true antique if so around what date was it made?

Hard to say TTT, there is not a great amount of dark patina on the metal surfaces, looks polished, as you saw in my link, most of them are quite dark, corroded, and old. How old your's is? Not sure.
