We are curious about this beautiful chair. Any information would be helpful. My husband inherited it from German family. He recalls it could be a profile of Martin Luther.

We have this chair identical except for the image on back. Our image is carved bears (one adult, one child) sitting on a log. However, the saucer seat, the arms, the design of the rocker legs... They are all IDENTICAL to what you have pictured here. Hope to get a name of the series they must have been part of. I put mine at about 100 years old.

I found this while researching a chair I have, and I just wanted to say it looks like the circa 1900s George Arndt chairs. I’m no expert, but they are rare chairs that look just like yours. They typically have carved monks on them. Hope this helps!
