I saw this doll, along with one other one, advertised for a price I couldn't pass up. The lady that was getting rid of them couldn't tell me much about them except that this one originally belonged to her aunt who was born in the late 1800s. She's 19 inches long. I'm having a hard time id-ing her marks and was hoping for some help. On the back of her bisque shoulder plate, I think it says F made in Germany. There may be some other marks on there too- possibly in faded ink? Or those could just be rub marks. She has a leather body/upper arms as well as all of her legs, and bisque lower arms. As far as she knew her clothes had never been changed. She has silky underclothes on under her dress, she's wearing stockings, and she's missing her shoes. It almost looks like a nightdress, but would she also be wearing a hat? I'm not up to date on late 1800s early/1900s fashion trends. If anyone can ID her for me I'd really appreciate it. I'll try and get the other doll posted soon. Thanks!

Update: I had a little more time to do some research and I think possibly she may be a Kestner. I'm notot 100% convinced yet, but it's a starting point.

Yes she is what collectors refer to as a JDK or Kestner " Alphabet series doll " What a wonderful find . She appears to be in original clothes . She dates from early 1900's . Thanks for sharing her :-)
