So much art glass comes in forms inspired by nature...vitreous blossoms that never fade.
This unusual Kralik (I believe) vase arrived just in time to share the delights of Autumn. It is made from clear pale pink glass with a diamond quilted pattern, & features an applied flower in clear, pink, & yellow borne on a clear stem with cobalt blue leaves.
It measures 20 cm tall, 4 cm across the cut & polished top rim, & 7.5 cm across the base.
I have two other vases in the same style, both in the typically bold Tango colours - red, with a yellow & black flower, & orange, with a red & blue flower. This one has a softer look to it.
For your enjoyment I've included some natural beauty as well...fairytale fungi & a Sasanqua Camellia in bloom.
Nice. Almost too much background. By the way, those are the wrong kind of mushrooms. LOL !
Amanita muscaria? - look like the RIGHT kind to me. Did you take a bite?
Guess you're right Art. Been 40+ yrs since I tried them & went by the pinch test. If it turned dark purple. IronLace, are you still with us ? Tea time ? LOL !!
blunderbuss...the fungi are strictly for decorative value :-)
This type is a big novelty to me, as where I lived previously - on the coast, you never saw ones like them because the climate was wrong.
There were also a lot of golden ones about (which I was told ARE a psychedelic variety) but I did not indulge...red wine is my drug of choice... :-)
Artfoot...maybe some of the local wildlife had a go at it...goodness knows they've already ate most of the apples & have also attempted to decimate my kale seedlings...

So hard for me to twist my head around and to think this is your time of autumn there with your winter around the corner ( but no snow ) when it is finally spring here !!

Yes, I guess it's a bit strange to think that our seasons are opposite, isn't it?
It's even something of an adventure for me, because where I used to live, in Sydney, there was not much of an autumn. Now I live in the Mountains, the climate is much colder due to the higher altitude, so all the plants are different, too. And there can even be a light fall of snow on the rare occasion...perhaps I'll experience some one day...
Personally, I wouldn't eat it either. :¬) I hear you about the critters. My yard has an orange tree which seems to satisfy the squirrels and opossums. For the rest of the yard, I grow cactus.
