An Artist friend of ours Painted this Antique Ice Saw back in 1993. Gave it to us as a present!! She loves painting objects!!! Furniture, Breadboards Barrel staves!!! Doors Etc.

This one is for trimming down block ice. The other one posted right now has a round nose and a knife type handle for cutting or enlarging holes in the ice. These larger ones always seemed to attract artists to paint them. This one is well done. I have seen many amateur failures on painted saws. Thanks for sharing this. I wonder how many others here ever cut ice or had an actual ice box as opposed to a refrigerator.

fhrjra No! I used to have an horse drawn ice plow I sold it to a Working Farm Museum in upstate NY years ago. I was just showing it in regard to Ted Straubs post of an Ice house picture he put up with an ice plow. They harvest the ice the old way there too.
