Found this at my local Goodwil.
    So cool!
    Hey peeps,
Usually I'd just sell it, but I really -really like this clock. So much so that I want to convert it to digital.
I'll restore the external housing to original and replace the guts.
The question: It this a crime?

Not sure I understand what you're getting at MstrXplodR...what part of it would you want to "convert to digital" -- the radio circuit board/speaker, analog clock assembly, or ?? There's probably not much more than that inside it, I'd tend to guess it might be less work to fix it (if necessary) than to 'replace its guts' entirely...??

I was just kiddin' about the crime thing. Figure of speech. Although seeing as how its in the radio museum it would be a shame to tear its guts out and replace them with a MP3 components. I love the whole clock. The plastic crystal is nice and clear. It runs. It's all there. I just don't collect 'em.

      Hey Kera,
I'm seriously thinking about using this guy's housing for a custom MP3/analog alarm clock. The thing holding me back is that the radio works! Super cool.
Should I keep it whole or Frankenstein it?

I am aware. Thank you for your concern.
      PROJECT:
My plan is to restore the cosmetic housing using natural oils and WD-40(Just the chrome.) I will keep the clock as-is; absolutley nothing wrong with it:) I'm thinking a mix of arduino for the switches and a raspberry pie model b+ for the music.
Then, want to drop a good speaker in.(Something over-the-top.)

-I'm going to 'look' for another like this one, since I need the missing alarm knob and I want the original washers & screws.
Someone was working on this clock before it was donated. And I intend to finish it.

I will remember to discharge the capacitors.

I just found one (no cord, or knob for alarm found yet) while cleaning out my grandma's stuff). I am in the East Bay Area of CA. Are you nearby? If you want it for parts, it's yours!
