On a recent trip to Virginia my wife and I passed through this little town and they were going through some kind of surrender ceremony.
There were two generals named Lee and Grant. Grant told Lee to give up the guns and go home, so he said O.K. and they left. But not before I got some pictures! Thanks for lookin!! Rob

My great great grandfather was a farmer with a family but joined the Confederate army. After the war, he went back home and resumed his work on the farm. I’ve been able to research him thru Ancestry.com to learn he farmed just a few miles from where I grew up!!
Thank God, my ancestor survived, the great generals made peace and the order was given to go home.

      I love the photos!
