Anyone recognize this pottery artist signature? The artwork is large and heavy: 17"H x 54"W - circumference at widest point.
It appears to have a bronze, earthy finish. Interesting bulbous or mushroom shape.
Signature appears to be Juan ? or S-something? Jonson?
    Dated: 1987
    Marked: 0612
I'd appreciate you help and feedback. Thanks!

Would you please take some pictures of this piece on it's side, with a couple of angles, and in better light? Is it porous, like clay? Has it been cleaned?

Been trying to work out the signature - aghh aghh!

Gillian- I just added an additional photo taken in natural sunlight. The first letter might be an "S" .... the third letter might be an "M".

fyi... It is not porous. I think it has several layers of dip / glaze to give it an underlying bronze or brass effect. Whoever made this, had to be an experienced potter.
      Thanks for help!

I think this might be considered RAKU style of pottery.
