A Fine Sunday Morning to you CW!!

I have spent most of yesterday catching up with things here at home, The honey do list and one of those things was to get my grass cut, something that takes about 3 hours to do, but I actually love to cut grass, I can get alot of thinking done.
As normal, my dogs are out running everywhere between our woods and what we keep clear cut. Suddenly, out of the blue, one of my dogs begins to bark and carry on from something that got her attention in the woods. I jump off the mower to investigate and while heading toward her I sort of stumble into a small depression in the ground and felt something hard on the bottom of my foot that seemed to be odd, so I begin to uncover the area with my hands and out comes this, A heavy glass pitcher with a metal top that flips open. My first thought was how did this get here and why, but I knew there would not be a answer to come to me.
I take the pitcher over to the water hose and rinse most of the dirt off and begin to look closer.
The top is metal, non-magnetic, so I am thinking silver or pewter possibly, but I don't know, it needs alot more cleaning. The handle is of the same metal.
I bring it around to our front porch, where my wife keeps a entrouge of outdoor plants.
If any of you out there in CW land can give me any info on this I would be very grateful.
I am guessing depression era. No markings of any kind anywhere on this.
I never did figure out what the commotion was with my dog, but if there wasn't one I may not have found this.

    Thank You,

Ezra, Hello...The home here was built in 1925 with 16 acres of land. We acquired it 3 years ago. I find many pop bottles, but this is the first unique item. It's funny about the pop bottles..I can't get rid of them and I don't really collect what CW Does to you!! Lol!!! Thank you here!,
Vynil33rpm, Hello..No markings unless after I clean lid and handle there may be something smally print. Nothing on the bottom.,
Broochman, Hello..who knows! Things pop up. It's rural, wooded and settled with home in 1925..The stuff is lurking! Lol!,
