I'd love to find out anything about this little basket. It's made like the old backpack baskets, but it's pretty small at just 7 inches long. i wonder what it was used for? and who made it? etc.

thanks fhrjr2! possibly, but doesn't seem right for a bottle. it wouldn't stay inside and the shape isn't quite right.
The little 'loops' on its sides/back and open top shape make me wonder if it was meant to hang from a belt (or horse harness, or ???) to hold something like 'arrows for a hunt'...or 'flowers for a parade' or something...??? Just a weird thought, I have no actual idea... :-)
I saw this when it was posted but unsure I didn't comment yet. So, I see you said basket... I used to have a brass purse that looked similar and it was called a 'horse bucket' purse, AnythingObscure's obscure thought was maybe not so obscure after all!!! ;) (it was simply a fashion faux pa from the 70's but not an actual basket, or a horse feeder for that matter)!
