This is a big one, standing as it does just over 10" tall. I understand there has been some debate about whether or not these pieces are Léveillé, some say Clichy or Sevres or any other number of makers, but where they appear online they are generally attributed to Léveillé. Now this could simply be misinformation that has been taken as fact over many years, as I have never seen any reputable article or published material on this maker, so I am just going with the concensus out there 'on'tinternet'.
So fabulous heavy crystal smokey glass with the usual deep purple, red and white spatter, free formed rim with gilding and 3 side dimpled overall form with superbly painted birds and foliage, which is in almost perfect state of preservation.
So different from the Baccarat yet so French, and so lovely.
