Bought this fine model car at Walmart, probably the best item in their toy department. Grownups need toys too. Grownups actually buy a lot of toys.
This is the legendary Dodge Charger with the legendary Hemi engine. The Hemi engine dominated the AA drag racing categories such as Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars. This is a very well detailed model with an opening hood and doors. I forgot to take photos with the doors open. It comes in a display case which it is screwed into. There is a plastic piece which holds the hood open.
The color is more maroon than red, probably should have used the other camera.
Beautiful classic Charger & great case
Of 37,344 Chargers built for '66, only 468 got the Hemi. Maybe that's because Hemi buyers got a one-year/12,000 warranty instead of Dodge's usual 5/50,000. Personally, I have the original 426 Hemi in a '66 Coronet. 1966 was the first year the legendary engine was offered to the public. Cool model.

Nice car, especially coming from Wmart. Hemi cars with matching numbers bring a SERIOUS premium compared with the same car with the more common engines. They're were very few of them here, I only knew one person that had a factory Hemi Charger.
It is also interesting that the Charger made its debut in mid-1966. Sharing its chassis and front-end sheet-metal with the mid-sized Coronet.
