      Advertising match strike.

      With the hole looks like it was made to be put on a wall. Maybe a barroom or restaurant item.

      Looks to be from the early 20th century-- searches on the company advertising (Tareyton cigarettes) may help to date it more precisely.

      Cool item! I did a little checking on Tareyton Cigs...The original ones had a cork tip, like a filter. They discontinued this in early 1950s.
      I seen ads as far back as 1916 for the company online.
      They are still available and in a small market area.
      They are actually owned today by R.J. Reynolds. We're at a time owned by the American Tobacco Co.
