Let's put Bohemian glass aside for a while to introduce this charming art deco lamp. I bougt it in Belgium from a private person, who was able to provide little information: The lamp would be probably Belgian, from the 1930s and the material was defined as a type of glass paste or lined glass or marbled glass ("pâte de verre ou verre doublé ou verre marmoréen").

She did not know the origin, but pointed out the Verreries Scailmont as a possibility.

The lamp consists of two separate parts and had to be re-electrified in the 70s.

The measures are 34 cm in height and 27 cm in diameter. I'm very happy to have this lamp. I love it both off and on.

It is, indeed! Thank you Broochman for commenting!

NB: As for the price arbitrariness of antiques, it sometimes becomes nonsense, and certain sellers seem not to realize how pathetic they result...

Hello to everybody, especially to truthordare and welzebub, who have extensively and generously contributed here with their knowledge and opinions. I think the materials you provided for the discussion on this lamp would have been useful not only to me but to other members of this community. Surprisingly, they are missing this morning :-( This way it cannot go ahead, sadly.

PLEASE NOTE: I have not delated any comments, either yours or mine... Whoever did it left only insubstantial ones. I am disappointed. I'm a beginner here, I wonder if anyone considered that we were writing censurable things... I have just asked the site for an explanation.

When I had just started, I do not know if I am going to post any item more.

Thanks a lot for your interest in my collection.

      Greetings everybody from Spain!

And sorry for my bad English

Your English is fine. Your comments were deleted by the forum admins who feel that deleting anything they see as not adhering to their"code of conduct" is not to be left in this forum. It is beyond tiresome,. Truthordare and I do not get along, never have gotten along, never will get along, and rarely if ever agree, but that is beside the point. Much of what was posted in the comments here was useful and valid information for people to learn from..... especially for you...... But because it was her and I, the forum deems it worthy of deleting..... Sad really... but hey... They have no knowledge of the subject, so they likely do not even really understand the disagreements.

I would add, that even though we disagreed, in this case the conversation stayed primarily on point..... but they deleted in anyway. They are the "self appointed guardians of your sensibility". LOL

Sorry, for the deletions. Mr. Lichnowsky, please do not stop posting your interesting items here.

Since this was posted I have acquired a Ruckl attributed by me, glass bowl, and also want to point out this marbling on white decor was used extensively on Ruckl lamps and shades. I can't declare for sure your lamp is Ruckl, but very possibly Czech Art Deco period.

Hi, Truthordare. Thank you very much for your comment. You are right about de dccor, however there is an important difference between both items: your beautiful bowl is glossy, but my lamp is matt. Have a good day!
