This is a redo of a fan I posted 4 years ago. It doesn't seem like 4 years ago but apparently it was. This is a new improved version of the post the old one will be deleted so I can post #2,000 Sunday night.
The first post I made is the same sort of fan but this is a pedestal version that raises up to 4 feet tall It is an Eskimo fan which is part of the Al Bersted family of fans. Al Bersted was known for making cheap small appliances especially electric fans. These were released under various names and sold in dime stores. This model is an oscillating fan, I should do some videos of my oscillators as they are fun to watch move back and forth.
This is circa 1950, later models were all stamped steel and this one has some cast metal. That and the cage design. Later fans have the more traditional concentric circles.

I love its nifty pedestal base! :-) Did it maybe once have a little medallion at the center of the cage?

Thank you very much AnythingObscure. No this one did not have a medallion. There is a plate on top with the logo which has mostly rubbed off. My other fan like this has the logo on the base.

Fans were made so much better back then. This'll definitely come in handy during this heatwave moving across the country!

Love these old fans, built to last. I remember the oscillating fans mounted above the blackboard in the classrooms in my elementary school. You'd wait for it to blow some air on you for some temporary relief from that humidity.

Thank you very much Scott. I have enough fans to blow it back to the other side of the country.

Thank you very much Toyrebel. Those fans probably still work unless someone left them outside.
