Prompted by kwqd's showing of his Ronald Reagan coffee mugs yesterday, here's a pair of pitchers I'm certain were produced by WESTERN STONEWARE in Monmouth IL, as I got them there myself sometime in the late 1970's or early 80's. The occasion, I think, was some kind of "open house/tour event held there for some reason, but the memories are foggy about that part -- it also coulda been just a random visit to the "factory store" with Mom & Dad. (presuming they had one of those, too?) I *do* actually also think these were officially "seconds" from the production line -- one has a small chip/cracks on its rim, the other possibly a flaw at the bottom of its handle. I, thus, treat both as strictly 'display items'. Both are about 8" high and 7" across handle/spout.

The 3rd pic (hopefully) shows the "USA" mark (which looks similar to the mark on kwqd's cups, to me anyway?) along with "3051", presumably a pattern number for the pitcher, irregardless of its decoration...?

This link gives some brief history of the pottery itself thru the decades, and also seems to indicate that Western made (still makes?!) all kinds of stuff including many "custom branded" items (like these, and Kevin's cups?) that bore various sorts of maker's marks, or indeed none at all, depending on the item I guess...?
