I picked up this dish at a thrift store near my home. It's the perfect size so store my headphones in so I'm not leaving them around the house. When I went home and googled the mark on its reverse, I was amazed to find out that it indicates it was manufactured before 1909. Is that correct? And what do you call this type of dish? What was its original purpose? It's approximately 5" in diameter and has three gold feet.

It's true, from 1884. Beautiful dish, hand painted antique porcelain. Thanks for posting.
