Looking for some identification help. Anybody recognize this poor little guy? Found him at an estate sale & don't know a thing about him. He's about 8" long. Maybe antique or primitive, just wood & cloth. Unique hands & shoes. Help?

He appears to be a schoenhut figure aka doll perhaps a circus character . Hard to tell missing much paint on face to tell what character he is .

Schoenhut dolls were wooden dolls produced by the Schoenhut Piano Company USA between 1903 and 1935. The company, founded by woodworker Albert Schoenhut, initially made toy pianos. They began to produce figurines in the early 1900s and dolls .

Very cool. Not sure why they have a hobo at a circus, but it works for me. Love learning about the history behind the pieces. Probably won't keep him (not really my collecting style), but will be sure to find him a good home. Thanks again, Manikin!
